Mentalist
Véronique Sauvé
Outremont, Montréal
I studied psychology before I studied magic, which means I became fascinated by the things we notice, the things we miss and the stories our brains invent between them. Mentalism was the perfect collision of all three.
Phones go into a basket when you arrive—not as a rule, but as the first experiment. With ten people in one salon, tiny choices become visible. Nothing is humiliating and nobody is made into the joke; wonder works better when everyone feels safe.
I do the crossword in pen and regret it almost every morning.
Why spend an evening with Véronique?
Let your attention be the material. Ten people, one quiet salon, and no screen to tell you where to look.
