Tarot, with a wink
Roxanne Lafleur
Plateau-Mont-Royal, Montréal
I bought my first tarot deck because the illustrations were beautiful and immediately annoyed everyone by insisting the cards could not predict anything. Then I noticed how quickly a strange image could make people tell a true story.
My evenings treat tarot as a social game, not a supernatural service. I teach the deck like a cast of unruly characters, then guests read for each other over wine. Skeptics are not only welcome; they usually give the best readings.
I own thirteen decks and use the battered five-dollar one most often.
