Chelsea superfan
Jonathan Hume
Petite-Patrie, Montréal
I moved to Montreal from East London in 2017 and immediately realized that watching football alone at ten in the morning with no one to argue with is genuinely depressing. So I started texting friends to come over, then friends of friends, then strangers from the internet.
Now it is a proper thing: trivia before kickoff, a halftime quiz and a prize that is always something stupid I found at a dépanneur. I've got every Chelsea shirt since 2004 on the wall and opinions about every manager since Mourinho's first stint.
Fair warning: I will pause the replay to explain why a 4-3-3 isn't working. My girlfriend has learned to leave the apartment on match days.
Why spend an evening with Jonathan?
The best way to watch football in Montreal: trivia, banter, strong opinions and ten people leaning toward one screen.
